800 drivers caught in N2's BMT lane in crackdown.(News)

MORE than 800 motorists have been caught and fined for driving in the N2's dedicated bus and minibus taxi (BMT) lane during peak traffic in the past four months.

City traffic spokesperson Merle Lourens said 861 motorists were fined for driving illegally in the BMT since April and 103 warrants of arrest were issued to 38 motorists.

During the city's clampdown on the N2 during the past four months, a further 2 158 fines have been issued for other offences, ranging from unlicensed cars to driving without valid driver's licences.
