A goal deep into stoppage time robbed Biggleswade Town of three points in their clash against fellow high-fliers Chalfont St Peter on Saturday.

Second placed Waders had turned in an exceptional performance against the side just one place below - a display manager Chris Nunn said was the best since he took over at the club in 2006.

But well into a large amount of time added on Chalfont's Welsh decided to try his luck from 25 yards and the ball flew into the top corner of Aaron Springham's net.

It was rough justice on the Waders who had dominated proceedings from start to finish.

Their early pressure paid off when Scott Field fed Jamie Steele and with one touch he put his side in front.

That was with half an hour gone and despite having to battle into the wind at McMullen Park in the second period the Waders continued to boss the game.
