Dhaka, April 21 -- Managing Director of Prime Bank Ltd M. Ehsanul Haque has addressed a press conference organized on the occasion of 16th Anniversary of the Bank at a city hotel on Tuesday. Additional Managing Director Md. Mehmood Husain, Deputy Managing Directors Md. Reazul Karim, Isbahul Bar Chowdhury, Md. Golam Rabbani and SEVP and Head of HR and Marketing Md. Tabarak Hossain Bhuiyan and other senior officials of the Bank were present at the press conference. Haque spoke about the Bank's successes, current activities and future plans on the eve of celebrating 16th anniversary of the Bank. He put light on the Bank's business successes at home and abroad, achievements of awards like SAF A, ICAB, etc. as the Best Bank. Besides, the achievement of the credit rating by CRISL to ST -1 in the short term and AA + in the long term. He said, inspite of the global recession the Bank did very well because of its diversification of businesses. He added, Prime Bank has taken many kinds of steps to increase remittance flow and various SME loans to make the national economy strong. To ensure a wide and maximum use of information technology, Prime Bank has introduced Internet Banking. Internally developed SMS banking has also been introduced. He informed that the Bank has opened another fully owned exchange house in Singapore and three others in London, Bermingham and Manchester in United Kingdom. Moreover 6 more branches and 7 more SME centers will be opened this year. Prime Bank has incorporated a subsidiary named Prime Bank Investment Ltd last year and been operating its entire merchant banking activities through it. The Bank is going to open another subsidiary organization named Prime Bank Securities Ltd, which will be operated as a brokerage house. He further added, through Prime Bank Foundation, the Bank is rendering different short term and long-term voluntary services on health and education to the welfare of the community. Prime Bank Foundation has introduced Education Support Program to help the poor and meritorious students for higher education as part of their long term planning.
